Milwaukee is the home of breweries. We went on our first tour today. It was actually really interesting. In all fairness Sprecher brews more root beer than anything else. At the end of our tour we got to have three different beers or all the soda you wanted. They have 8 specialty soda's which were all great (except the ginger ale was made from real ginger and I could barely drink mine). Well if anyone comes to visit we will be sure to take on a tour there.
New York Times voted Sprecher Rootbeer the No. 1 root beer.
Ryan eating the barley they use to make beer.
Lilly just really liked sitting in a normal chair like a big girl!

Determination
Being determined in not always a bad thing. I truly believe you have to work hard for things you want in this life. Sometimes Lilly’s determination really wears on me like … when she is determined that she is only eating fruit snacks that day or when she decides that she is not going to nap no matter what I do. There are other times when her determination is so cute. We have a new TV cabinet. One of the main reasons we chose this cabinet is because it locks, with a key. Lilly knows what keys are and what they do. The problem is she has not found the right key. But she is determined. Everyday she finds some keys and everyday she spends so much time trying to get into that cabinet. The amazing thing is she never gets upset she just keeps working at it day after day. I am amazed at her resolve. I hope she keeps her determined nature, even though it is so hard to handle sometimes.

The White Coat Ceremony
It was so exciting to see Ryan get his white coat. I did not get to see much of the actual ceremony because my Lilly did not see the value in sitting and being quite. We did get to see Ryan walk across the stage and have his coat placed on him. He had the biggest grin on his face. Right when Ryan was walking across the stage Lilly started screaming "Dada, Dada." The whole audience began to chuckle. I was a little embarrassed but it was really cute. Lilly has become very attached to Ryan. She cries every morning when he leaves. This ceremony just made this whole dental thing seem much more real. I think Ryan totally looks like a dentist. After the students have all received there white coats they recited "The Dental Student's Oath". The oath indicates the "student's intention and willingness to assume the obligations and responsibilities of their chosen profession". Well it was a great evening. I am finally feeling a little more settled here in Milwaukee. I can't believe how quickly I am figuring out how to get everywhere.

Irish Fest
On Friday we were a able to attend the annual Irish Fest in downtown Milwaukee. We saw some awesome dancing and cool music. We had traditional corned beef and potatoes. Lilly had a great time because they had a huge play ground. She did not however like the leprechaun we posed for a picture with. I don't think she is really going to care much for Santa this year.

Chicago
So we hit the road and headed to Chicago yesterday. First we stopped by the Schaumburg IKEA just outside of Chicago. It was one of the coolest IKEA's I have been to. Well this makes IKEA number five for me.
Next we headed to Gino's Pizzeria in the heart of Chicago. Ryan had gone there as a child and was excited to go there again. We had some great deep dish pizza.
Next we hit the streets of Chicago.
Lilly loved this Lion. She kept barking at it.
And finally I could not go to Chicago without going by the Harpo studios. Hopefully sometime over this next four years I will actually be able to get inside and go to an Oprah Show.
This was the coolest rest stop I have ever seen. It is build as an overpass to the freeway. We were on a toll road and they have these rest stops so that you don't have to get off the toll road and pay to get back on. Lilly loved seeing the cars going by.

Fun first
This was a fun first for me. I got Lilly's hair into two little pony tails onto of her head. I have waiting for a long time to be able to get her hair to do this. They are not perfect but it was so fun.
So on Sunday Ryan made me the best chocolate cake for my birthday. Lilly loved it because she got her first beater of frosting. She loved the frosting. She is also a good sharer.

Wisconsin State Fair
Well we have been here a few days now and all seems to be going well. We are almost all unpacked. I hate unpacking. I think Ryan hates it even more than I do. So we decided to take a break from unpacking and checked out the local Wisconsin State Fair with our friends Matt and Amie, their little girl Kaylee and baby boy Josh. We had a great time. Lilly loved the animals! I think her favorite part was watching the dogs jump into the pool of water. She started barking at them as soon as she saw them.
Ryan and Lilly took a ride down this giant slide on a potato sack. All Lilly said at the end was "Mama". I think she liked it though.
Lilly and I in front of all the cows. They had some of the biggest cows I have ever seen.
Lilly with her new friend Kaylee. They are so cute together.
This is when Lilly saw the doggies. She was barking and pointing we just had to check them out.

Bradford Beach
I can't believe how big Lake Michigan is. It seems just like an ocean only with fresh water. We found this awesome beach called Bradford Beach. We had a ton of fun yesterday splashing in the water and playing in the sand. Lilly loves the water just like her mama and grandma. We also did a lot of sight seeing and shopping. I found an H & M here. I love that store. Well my parents had to leave today. I hated to see them go but I am doing better than I thought I would. Thanks mom and dad for all your help. I don't think I could have done this move without you.
Lilly and I attended our first play group today. Lilly had fun at the splash pool and it was fun to start meeting people.

Pictures from the road
I wish I would have taken more pictures of our 3 day trip across county but oh well. I have several pictures of us in front of corn because we saw so many miles and miles of corn! Anyway I hope you enjoy!
Lilly got very spoiled because I let her come into bed with us every morning.
What a funny girl. She can find a place to sit anywhere.
Ryan and Lilly hanging out at McDonald's on some very cool saddle seats. I think we were somewhere in Nebraska.

We made it!
Well we are here in Milwaukee. It is so nice to know that we don't have to be in a car forever today. Now is the really hard part though, moving in. It is hot and very humid here. A storm rolled in last night. It looks like we may be moving in in the rain. Oh well! We stopped by our friends Matt and Amie's apartment last night. They had a lovely dinner for us which we so nice after eating out for the past 3 days. Thanks again Matt and Amie! I also got to see the type of apartment we will be in. It seems way bigger compared to the University housing we were in. Anyway I will post pics later. I just thought I would let everyone know that we made it!

Sidney Nebraska
Today we hit the road headed to Milwaukee. We made it all the way the Sidney Nebraska. Lilly did so good with the 8 hour car trip. Quick knock on wood so I don't jinx myself and she doesn't do well tomorrow. We only have 900 more miles until we get to Milwaukee. I actually am truly excited for the adventures that await us in Milwaukee. I will try post more from the road later.
