Memorial Day

I love holidays. In fact I get a little crazy about them. It is just such a great excuse for family time and doing things you usually don't take time to do. This Memorial day we kick the day off with a cute little parade in Cedarburg. Our new friends Jodee and Jon and their daughter Brooke and Rachel (who just moved to Milwaukee from Pittsburgh) came to Cedarburg to see the parade with us.
My favorite part of any parade is always the band!
Our family!
The rest of the day was filled with playing at the park, BBQ and swimming. Kate still is not liking to play in the water. (This makes me wonder who's kid she is sometimes.)

Thanks to all those who serve our country and protect our freedom!

Sunday BBQ

Oh, how I love Sunday BBQ's. There is nothing better then sharing great food with family and friends on a beautiful Sunday. This past Sunday was one of those Sunday's. Also at our BBQ we decided to celebrate Kate's B-day. It was simple I just made a quick cake right before the get together.
Kate was ready to dig into her cake. Even at her young age of 1 she insists on having a fork or spoon.

Some of our friends.
Left to right- Becky, Hillary, Karen, Derrick and Whitney.
Spencer, Miles and Lilly.
Courtney showing some of the food.
Oh the Ehats! Our friends the Ehats will be moving soon. They have been great friends and it will be hard to say goodbye. They are headed to New Mexico to start their dental practice.
Stephanie, Steph's Mom and Chris.
Boys will be boys. Our friend Courtney taught the "boys" how to breath fire.
Here's to a summer full of BBQ's!!!!!

Our family

Our friend Dr. Chris Ehat took these family pictures for us. He and his family are moving to New Mexico soon. We are really going to miss them!

We took these in our beloved town of Cedarburg. We got lucky and it was a beautiful spring day.
Chris didn't even pose the girls he just let them do what they wanted and captured the moment. This is Lilly's model pose and Kate loves to blow the dandelions.

Kate's fun

This is what a day of fun outside looks like on Kate.
This is what she thinks of it ending.

Our first beach day of the season

Ryan had Monday May 24 off because of graduation and Canadian Day so we decided to hit the beach. Lilly was more than excited. This is her "I love the beach dance"! She is the one that named it that.

Kate on the other hand didn't really know what to think about the beach. She would whimper anytime one of us got close to the water and did not want to get off my lap.
Lilly could not stay out of the water. Ryan must have swung her into it a hundred times. Even though her lips turned purple and she was freezing she did not want to stop.
You can see in the background how foggy it was that day. It was so hot here and the lake is so cold that it caused alot of fog.
Kate did finally warm up to the idea of playing in the sand but only if she was sitting on the blanket.

We are totally looking forward to a summer full of days at the beach!

Our Home

I recently took photos of our little apartment. It is a small two bedroom but it is home and I really have grown to love it.
We live on the upper level. Here is a shot from the top of our stairs straight into our dinning area and kitchen.
A closer look at our kitchen.
Our laundry room/pantry. I love finally having a washer and dryer!
A look from our kitchen out towards the dinning area and the stairs. (I love that the stairs are in our apartment.)
A look into the living area.

Our hallway. It is funny but I love having a hall. It makes me feel like we are in a bigger place or something.
Bathroom
Lilly's room! I love the big window.
Ryan and my room. I love the balcony.
Kate is still sleeping in our room. It has been a rough year having her in our room. We can't put her in Lilly's room because they wake each other up. Kate is still not sleeping through the night. Oh well, they are only little for a short while. Someday I will sleep again!
In about a month we will be moving into a three bedroom town home style apartment. I can't wait! (Although I am not looking forward to packing and moving yet again!) Lilly and Kate will each have their own room. We will have a bigger kitchen and a basement for the washer and dryer and play/ craft room!

Go Brewers!

During Ryan's break(during Spring and Summer Semester) we decided to head to a Brewers game. We were lucky that they were offering 1/2 priced tickets. I hate watching baseball on TV but love going to Miller Park and watching a live game.

Ryan and I REALLY wanted to tail gate in the parking lot before the game but the weather was pretty crappy. We instead had a BBQ with our good friends the Sessions.
The girls had a great time. Lilly would randomly yell "Go Brewers"!

The Session Fam
Our friends the Morgans also joined us at the game.
Ryan, Sky and Spencer
Poor Kate was so tired because the game was during her nap time. I was amazed that she was able to fall asleep with all the noise. It was was fun to cuddle with her.
Our little Fam!
